Homemade Buffalo Wings

Welcome to 2026, where takeout fast food costs are outrageously high and many people can't afford them anymore. That includes simple dishes that were made for takeout, such as buffalo wings. Fortunately, like many restaurant dishes, it's very easy to make your own buffalo wings at home!
Ingredients
- 1 package of chicken wings, 3 to 4 pounds
- Salt
- Ground black pepper
- Garlic powder
- 1 cup Frank's Hot Sauce
- 2/3 cup melted butter
Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
Lay the buffalo wings out on a large baking sheet (or a cast iron pan).
Coat the wings with a generous amount of salt, pepper and garlic powder. Turn them over and coat the other sides with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Place the tray of wings in the oven, uncovered, and roast them until they're well-done and crispy. This will take about 30 minutes. The temperature of the wings should be over 180 degrees F. The wings will reach the "falling off the bone" point when the temperature exceeds 200 degrees F; so if you want to keep them in for a few minutes longer, you can do so.
While the chicken is roasting in the oven, use a huge bowl and prepare the buffalo sauce: 1 cup Frank's hot sauce and 2/3 cup melted butter.
When the chicken comes out of the oven, immediately move it from the hot baking tray to the bowl of sauce. Toss the chicken pieces in the sauce until they're coated.
Serve!
Largely because of the popularity of buffalo wings, the cost of chicken wings at the supermarket has skyrocketed from nearly nothing to $4 a pound or higher. Since you can almost always get other chicken pieces at the supermarket for less than the cost of the wings, simply toss them in the buffalo sauce and you get buffalo chicken drumsticks! Or thighs, if you prefer.
